Default Hammesfahr set?

Guys

I've had this set quite a while and thought I'd run it past you to see if indeed it is a matching set, or mismatched.

Three pics to follow.

The cross comes wrapped in it's original tissue paper which might explain the condition.

I'm not sure if Hammesfahr's EK2 type is known. If it is, I'd like to see it.

In any case I think the cross is nice, and the Packet is a nice and uncommon original. This color and stamp are more commonly found with another maker's name on the reverse (Berg & Nolte 40).

I guess a starting point would be to see it this EK2 can be matched to another maker. If not, then at least it has a fighting chance!

Would you guys need better close-ups to determine this?

Thanks Richard.

I would say that, in this case, it would be prudent to wait for some more Hammesfahr sets to appear before concluding that this is a Hammesfahr EK2.

For example, we know what the Paulmann & Crone 86 EK2 looks like, and we know what the Moritz Hausch 127 EK2 looks like, for the exact same reason: multiple sets appeared, some from dealers and (crucially) some from private hands ("out of the woodwork"), with the same crosses in the same packets. The one you show here may well be a Hammesfahr -- my instinct is that it probably is -- but to be sure it would be nice to see some more.

So let's all keep our eyes open.

Absolutely... I agree totally. Anyone with a Hammesfahr set should be asked to post it to see if the crosses match.
