One of the more rare flight items is the Farbbeutel IMO..
How many did survive..?
They're very delicate and less are to be found..
They're kind of rubber bags which contained another bag with colored powder to make a big spot in the water when the pilot /crew were downed ,so searching would be much easier..
Here're 2 found near a German airfield and for display they're fine..,they're pretty good shape after all those years..,finding these in mint condition is impossible IMO and if found they might be fake ,I've seen fakes of these..
No contents ,were found empty ,stuffed them with cotton balls ,which is safer for the other items for sure..
The back has some text how to use it ..

Just a short note on the flares in post #42; the one with the "M" in front is definetively not for LW aerial use. The raised "M" is a warning, as the Meteorologische patrone only is intended to by fired from a fixed gun, mounted on tripod! The recoil is, literally, a killer!

This "pile" arrived yesterday. As far as I can tell it is complete, except for two missing "bungee" ropes (the ones that helps opening the flaps at the rear). There was no "pilot" chute (the small assisting chute that helps to pull the rest out). Should there be one?

Bottom view, pack "closed". Note 4 of the 6 bungee ropes still present. Each have a little hook that attaches to the eyes. The D-ring is attached to a steel cable that follows the flexible tubing to the center of the pack, where the actual release takes place. When unlocked, the bungee-ropes will pull open the cover,freeing the chute (and the pilot-chute?).
